Prices for Two Dollar 1890 Treasury Notes

Value Guide for 1890 Two Dollar Bank Notes

        Year:  1890

        Denomination:  Two Dollar Bank Note

        Type:  Treasury Note (Coin Note)

        $2 Bill Front Picture:

Description:   Treasury notes were only issued by The United States in 1890 and 1891. Two dollar bills from both years look very similar, but the 1890 examples are much more desirable. They can easily be spotted by their ornate green back design.

Seal Type:  Two dollar treasury notes from 1890 have either a small red seal or a large brown seal.

Varieties:   There are three different types of 1890 $2 treasury notes. All the notes are valued the same in circulated condition, but notes in perfect condition signed by Rosecrans and Nebeker are tough to find.

        Portrait:  James McPherson

Value:  An 1890 $2 treasury note can be worth as little as $200 or as much as $10,000. This is one of those anomalies where circulated notes are readily available, but notes in perfect condition are few and far between. Please contact us for exact pricing information.

NEED AN APPRAISAL OR WANT TO SELL?

We buy all of these 1890 $2 bank notes issued by The United States. The main factors that affect the value are the condition and sometimes the serial number. We have to see pictures in order to provide any value information. You can text pictures to 864-430-4020. You can also attach pictures to an email message. You’ll never know what we would have offered unless you ask. The value might surprise you in a good way.
